By now we all know about Obama's shady house/land deal with Rezko (a Syrian) and his wife. We also know he lied about doing favors for Rezko because he hired one of his employees as an intern and also wrote letters in support of Rezko's slums (which by the way had no heat or hot water for weeks at a time) in Obama's district.
Should Obama make a pledge not to pardon Rezko if Obama becomes President? I say yes. This would prevent the impression that Rezko is exchanging his silence for a pardon.
..or was the house/land deal the payment for his silence? Time will tell.
Also...will Patrick Fitzgerald derail the Obama campaign? If Rezko decides to come clean about Obama, this could be big news during the campaign.
Is Obama's nose clean? It sure doesn't look like it to me. He is refusing to answer questions about this. Also...some of you have mentioned Hsu. However, Hsu also helped Barack Obama, the big winner in Iowa, but it wasn't widely reported. Back on October 16, the Los Angeles Times reported "a political action committee for Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) received $24,500" from Hsu associates.
My suggestion for Obama's theme song...
Update: Obama's church and his pastor will be an issue in the campaign as well. The unorthodox pastor of Trinity church is the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who is refusing all interviews. He married Barack and Michelle Obama and baptised their two daughters. He is already attracting attention on right-wing websites for describing the September 11 attacks as a "wake-up call" to America for ignoring the concerns of "people of colour", and for claiming that Americans "believe in white supremacy and black inferiority . . . more than we believe in God".
Wright travelled to meet Muammar Gadaffi, the Libyan leader, in the 1980s with Louis Farrakhan, the black supremacist leader of the Nation of Islam, and subscribes to the "Black Values System", which preaches self-reliance but claims "middle-classness" is ensnaring blacks.
"When [Obama’s] enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli to visit Colonel Gadaffi with Farrakhan, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell," Wright once said.
